The language that we use everyday shapes our reality. This can be our internal dialogue: the way we speak to ourselves about ourselves or our experiences. It also forms the way that we communicate with others: our language is the fundamental tool we have at our disposal as teachers and practitioners. The language, metaphors and analogies we use leads us from the material world to our inner experience of ourselves.

During this live workshop we will do a deep dive looking at the power of language through the lens of anatomy, physiology and psychology, with the ultimate goal of refining our teaching cues so that they are empowering, inclusive and accessible.

Aims and objectives:

·      Become clear on how powerful language can be in a yoga setting

·      Discuss what is meant by creating a “safe space”

·      Look at 7 top tips for refining our teaching language

·      Discuss language around injuries, conditions and providing options

·      Look at 8 anatomy misconceptions that impact the way many teacher cue

There will be time for Q&A.
